Not all Herbal Remedies are good for you!
Although we all like to think that herbs and natural ingredients are high on the list of healthy products, this is not always the case.
A
recent report highlights the association of a plant derivative found in some Chinese herbal medications and remedies with end stage renal disease. One name for the herbal remedy is Guan Mu Tong, containing aristocholic acid, a known kidney toxin and possibly associated with urinary tract tumors.

Herbal teas, including all the teas discussed in these pages, should not be consumed by persons who are pregnant or nursing, unless approved by your health care provider. Herbal teas may vary in their ingredients and some herbal tea components may interfere with other important medications. For example, there is some concern that green tea ingestion during pregnancy may reduce the absorption of folate, an important nutrient in fetal nervous system development.
