Pu-ehr is usually made from the broad leaves of the Chinese tea plant, Camellia sinensis. Puer tea can be dark or green, depending on the type of fermentation employed in processing.
You may recognize Pu-ehr tea as it is sold aged, as opposed to fresh tea leaves. Grades of Pu-ehr tea vary depending on the age of the tea, location and processing factory.
Puer is uniquely package into
tea packets or tea bricks. These tightly compressed packages of aged fermented tea are often wrapped in beautiful enscripted paper, or tied together with bamboo wrapping.
