Jasmine is a large family of warm temperature/tropical flowers prized for their beauty and fragrance.
Most Jasmine species are grown for their ornamental value, for garlands and hair decorations.
The flowers of Jasminum sambac, known as Arabian Jasmine (but also by other names in India, Cambodia, Sri Lanka and the Philippines, are added principally to green or white tea to make Jasmine Tea. Jasmine tea is enjoyed for a sweet, subtle flavor. Jasmine tea may also be called Jasmine Flower Tea.

Herbal teas, including all the teas discussed in these pages, should not be consumed by persons who are pregnant or nursing, unless approved by your health care provider. Herbal teas may vary in their ingredients and some herbal tea components may interfere with other important medications. For example, there is some concern that green tea ingestion during pregnancy may reduce the absorption of folate, an important nutrient in fetal nervous system development.
